Stop killing of stray animals and respect article 269 of Criminal Code
It has come to our attention that a mass killing of stray animals is
being practiced in Serbia, against the Criminal Code article 269.
Our organisation has about 1.000 members, some of them involved in
trading with Serbia. We were all very sad to hear the news, as our
countries had always close and good relationship and similar problems.
Catch and kill of strays never had any results on solving the stray
overpopulation problem.
Greece has a similar problem with strays but is dealing with it through
trap-neuter-release programs, as many other countries all over the
world. In the areas that run such programs stray overpopulation is
already under control and strays are more healthy and friendly.
Please stop killing of stray animals in Serbia, implement the Criminal
Code to punish those involved in killing and help the animal welfare
organisations to continue their work.
Please keep us informed on the issue, as our members are really
interested. We look forward to hear good news from Serbia soon.
Kind Regards,*
