Objet: Lonesome MAGGIE
To : The Alaska Zoo's Board of Directors
Ladies, Gentlemen,
I am writing to you out of concern for Maggie, the sole elephant at the
Alaska Zoo.
The decision has been made to transfer her to a facility that is better able
to care for her, but this must be done quickly, as she may not live through
another freezing winter.
Alaska's first snowfall can occur any time from mid-September on. The days
get shorter: during November, December, and January, Anchorage has only
seven to nine hours of daylight. As the growing cold and dark confine her to
her concrete cell for five months of the year, Maggie, a creature of the
African sun and savannah, sinks into depression and lethargy.
Please ensure that Maggie is removed from the Alaska Zoo before the start
of winter, and that she is moved to a sanctuary instead of another zoo.
Give her some hapiness at last....
Thanking you in advance,
Sincerely,
Vos coordonnées !
