Dear European Commissioners,
As a European citizen, I take the liberty to remind you that Written Declaration 17/2003 (ban on the import of dog and cat fur) was passed by more than the required Majority of the MEP’s. They realized there is a strong feeling about this matter amongst the European population – which is quite normal, because most of us keep dogs and cats as pets.
However, up till now, the EU Commission has refused to implement Written declaration 17/2003. Please note we feel this denial of a democratic decision as a tarnishing of the image of the European institutions and an arrogant humiliation for the European citizen.
Failure and refusal by the Commissioners to enforce the decisions of the Parliament can only lead to the downfall of the European solidarity.
Awaiting your urgent approval of Written declaration 17/2003,
Yours sincerely,
