Dear Irish authorities,
Throughout the European Union, there is a groundswell of public opposition to using animals in circuses and travelling shows.
Scotland’s minister for Environment and Rural Development recently announced his intention to introduce a ban on the use of exotic animals in circuses, and similar
legislation is under consideration in Great Britain.
Circuses subject unwilling animals to abusive training, constant confinement and gruelling transport.
They also teach children that abusing animals is both fun and acceptible.
Please introduce a bill which would ban the use of animals in circuses.
Thank you very much indeed for your time.
Sincerely,
